JUNE 2001: First children admitted to Janet Genter Community Nursery.
JUNE 2001: Solution Centre - one-stop advice shop on Preston Road - opens.
JUNE 2001: Preston Road Motorbike Club is formed to reduce joy-riding on the Estate.
JULY 2001: Janet Genter Community Nursery is officially opened by the Lord Mayor, named after a late childcare champion from the Estate
JULY 2001: Age Concern Hull and Preston Road NDC open up shop and information centre at Southcoates Lane.
AUGUST 2001: Launch of pilot of Community Transport service for East Hull, part-funded by PRNDC.
OCTOBER 2001: Community Learning Centre, Maybury Road, opens and courses in Computer Build, Hairdressing and Office Skills begin.
OCTOBER 2001: 100th member of staff - resident Steve Procter - appointed
OCTOBER 2001: Job and training opportunities’ arm, Preston Road Works! is launched.
OCTOBER 2001: Unique Support Not Pills project starts - to help people off anti-depressants.
