JANUARY 2002: New £90,000 play area is unveiled by local youngsters at the Regeneration Centre.

JANUARY 2002: John Prescott MP unveils plans for multi-million village centre on nine-acre Boot Triangle site, Preston Rd.

FEBRUARY 2002: Winner - Women's Project - moves into bigger accommodation on Preston Road.

MARCH 2002: Sue Hilton appointed as Acting Director of Learning, Health and Development, covering for Jack Davies - seconded to Hull’s Digital Cities’ Initiative.

APRIL 2002: UK Online Computer suite opens at the Regeneration Centre.

APRIL 2002: Home Secretary David Blunkett joins John Prescott to launch new £500,000 Trax Project.

APRIL 2002: Launch of company website, www.prndc.com. (Old version)

MAY 2002: Coronation Street’s Fred Elliott officially opens community development project, Action 243, at 243 Southcoates Lane.

MAY 2002: Launch of Community Paramedic.

JUNE 2002: UK Online Centre named best of its kind in Yorkshire and the Humber by the Department for Education and Skills.

AUGUST 2002: East Hull Community Transport launches H2H (Home to Hospital), a service taking visitors to see patients in hospital.

SEPTEMBER 2002: Plans for a childcare centre on the proposed site of the Preston Road Village Centre receive £80,000 boost from the New Opportunities’ Fund.

NOVEMBER 2002: Preston Road NDC becomes a registered charity and officially changes its name to Preston Road Neighbourhood Development Company Limited.

DECEMBER 2002: Latest office, Wire IT, supporting the digital community initiative, is opened on Southcoates Avenue by Tina O’Brien from Coronation Street.
